Frederick Foote’s reading will include a multimedia presentation of the poems in his award-winning book, Medic Against Bomb, followed by a discussion on how communities can use the arts to support the healing of Veterans and Wounded Warriors. Martha Silano, who selected Medic Against Bomb for the Grayson Poetry Prize, says Foote’s poems “restore humanity to both enemy and combatant, leaving the reader with a fuller, clearer sense of the ongoing Iraqi conflict.”
A book signing will follow the reading. Open mike precedes the feature. Admission is FREE. As always, non-perishable food donations for the AHCC Crisis Food Support program gratefully accepted.
