On November 7th, Riverwood Poetry Series presents a day-long event, “Poetry, Race, and Racism,” at the Mark Twain House.
It will include workshops, an open mike, theatrical performance on the life and work of poet Langston Hughes, dinner, and poetry by Antoinette Brim, and a featured reading by poet Rickey Laurentiis, winner of the 2014 Cave Canem poetry prize.

1:00 – 1:50 pm Writing Workshops with David Mills or Kate Rushin (these 2 workshops run concurrently)
2:00 – 2:50 pm Writing Workshops with Antoinette Brim or Rickey Laurentiis (these 2 workshops run concurrently)
3:15 – 4:15 pm David Mills performance
4:30 – 5:30 pm Open mike or optional tour of the Mark Twain House
5:45 – 6:45 pm Dinner ($10.00, plus $1.54 fee)
7:00 – 9:00 pm Reading by Rickey Laurentiis, with opening voice, Antoinette Brim: panel discussion with audience follows
All events (except dinner) are free and open to the public.
