Please join us on Thursday, March 9th at 7 PM for the launch of the anthology, “Forgotten Women: A Tribute in Poetry,” published by Grayson Books.  Several poets from Connecticut and nearby states will read their work appearing in the anthology.

Please note we have moved to the Universalist Church of West Hartford (433 Fern Street, West Hartford). Doors open at 7:00 for light refreshments and conversation. Poetry begins at 7:15 PM. Open mic precedes the featured poets; open mic poems on the subject of forgotten women are encouraged but not required. Come and read anything! Free of charge! Donations gratefully accepted.

About the Book:

Forgotten Women is an anthology that serves two great purposes:  it honors, celebrates, and presents women’s lives…across time, across status and race, and it showcases the power of the poetry inspired by women.  In an era where you’d think that women’s lives would always be celebrated or considered, we find that women’s lives and stories are often disrespected and dismissed. Ginny Lowe Connors has brought together poems of astounding diversity from poets as varied as their subjects, thus allowing the reader to find and learn about women little known or to see in a radically different way, ones who are better-known.  The generosity of these words show these women are remembered, not forgotten, and you should remember them too.
